Professional MBA student headshot — The First Headshot, DC Metro
Real client DC Metro

MBA recruiting starts in week one. Your photo should arrive first.

The window between orientation and the first coffee chat is shorter than incoming students expect. Photos that aren't ready by week two start to cost.

01
// Pre-MBA summer
Update LinkedIn
Before orientation. New profile, new photo. Used for every pre-arrival networking reach-out.
02
// Sept–Oct
Consulting recruiting
Coffee chats, networking events, case prep workshops. The photo is on every email and CRM.
03
// Nov–Jan
Banking + PE
Application portals, firm networking events, interview submissions. Same photo, every firm.
04
// Feb–Apr
Tech & rotational
Later recruiting cycle for tech APM programs, rotational programs, and product roles.

The recruiting context this photo lives in.

The same photo on every coffee chat, every CRM, every application portal — across the recruiting tracks most MBA students pursue at once.

// Consulting
MBB (McKinsey, Bain, BCG), Big 4 (Deloitte S&O, EY-Parthenon), boutique strategy (LEK, Oliver Wyman, ZS).
// Banking
Bulge bracket (Goldman, Morgan Stanley, JPM), elite boutique (Evercore, Centerview, Lazard), middle market (Houlihan, Jefferies).
// Private equity
Mega-funds (KKR, Carlyle, Blackstone, Apollo), middle market PE, growth equity, VC.
// Tech
Big tech APM (Google, Meta, Amazon), product strategy, rotational programs (Microsoft, Salesforce, Stripe).
// Other
Corporate strategy roles, policy (DC-specific), non-profit leadership, startup founder/operator paths.
// Why this matters

You've already made the $200K bet. Don't lose the recruiting moment to a phone photo.

MBA recruiting is the reason most students came to business school — and the entire process happens in the first nine months of Year 1. By the time your summer internship starts, the photo that's been on every email signature, coffee chat invite, and LinkedIn profile has done more than half the impression-making for you.

The photo isn't optional. It's table stakes for the recruiting machine you came here to enter. One session, $199, done before the first networking event.

One package. One price. Built for the recruiting calendar.

No tier confusion, no add-on upsells. Same product whether you're recruiting MBB or rotational tech. Same photo across every application.

MBA recruiting questions.

When should I book if I'm starting MBA in August?
Before orientation if you can — most students book the August before they start. The photo is in use the moment you change your LinkedIn from your current role to MBA candidate, which most do mid-summer. If you've already started and don't have a photo yet, book this week; recruiting waits for no one.
What should I wear?
Default to recruiting-firm attire — what you'd wear to a coffee chat at McKinsey or Goldman. For most: a clean blazer over a solid blouse or button-down. Tie optional. The photo travels across consulting, banking, PE, and tech, so business professional is the safest move. The prep guide before your session walks through specifics.
I'm recruiting for tech, not banking. Should the photo be more casual?
No. The same business professional photo works across consulting, banking, PE, and tech. Tech firms aren't penalizing you for looking polished — they're just less strict than IB. A blazer photo in a tech recruiter's inbox reads as serious and prepared, not "stuffy." Save the more casual photo for after you land the offer.
Do I need a new photo? I already have a professional one from my pre-MBA job.
Probably yes. Two reasons: most pre-MBA photos are 3–5 years old (recruiters notice when your photo doesn't match the version of you they meet), and the framing of recruiting changes the audience. The photo from your old analyst headshot was for clients. This photo is for partners deciding whether to invite you to a callback.
I'm an exec MBA / part-time / weekend student — same product?
Yes. Whether you're full-time, exec, part-time, or weekend program, the recruiting context and the photo it requires are the same. The session and pricing don't change based on program format.
